We fully acknowledge the need for new wastewater infrastructure to support Hamilton’s growth, but we strongly oppose the chosen site, which is surrounded by family homes. A project of this scale would harm our community — lowering property values, reducing quality of life, and setting a dangerous precedent for how major developments are imposed without proper consultation.

Our concerns are clear:

Lack of transparency and consultation — residents were not properly informed or given a voice in the decision.

Property value impacts — the Council denies any effect and refuses compensation.

Unfair process — alternative sites have not been seriously considered, and objections are being dismissed.

We believe that if this project is of national importance, then the impact must be shared fairly — through transparent consultation, proper site evaluation, and compensation for affected residents.
